Who is Brian Burley??

Who is Brian Burley?? At age 24 Brian Burley’s first stop after graduating from USC was Huntington Beach. Brian's degree was in “Political Economy”, essentially how-to-campaign school. Brian knew the math and that if he were elected once he’d have a very good chance of serving in office forever. But he had to attain that first office. His strategy was to keep running until he had enough name recognition to win his first seat.

Brian has played the HB voting public for fools since 2018. In 3 different elections, 2018, 2020 & 2022, he ran for Congress and as soon as he lost those races immediately pivoted to the HB City Council race. Brian Burley is the most consistent and extreme vote splitter in Huntington Beach history. If Burley had not run in 2020, taking 7.3% of the vote, it’s likely that Gracey Van Der Mark and Casey McKeon would be sitting on the city council right now. After our recent expose' on vote splitting we see how splitting on the Republican side makes sure good grassroots candidates don't win in HB.

When Burley came on the scene in 2017 and announced his run for HBCC he tried to insert himself into many different groups, the far-leftist HB Huddle included. Many smart and connected people advised him to slow down and seek board and commission seats to gain much-needed experience, he could not be bothered saying “city hall is so corrupt, I don’t want it to taint me”. He has never served on a board or commission, spoken at city council or helped the local grassroots in any fashion but claims in his latest ad that “I love Huntington Beach and my passion in life is to serve our community”.

However, at the same time he was claiming to be "THE ONLY CANDIDATE TO TAKE ON THE ORANGE COUNTY REPUBLICAN PARTY ESTABLISHMENT AND WIN" he secured a seat on the OC GOP Central Committee, ensuring that he was snugged up tightly to that same Republican party establishment who could help his political career.

Worst of all, Brian only publicly appears around election time then when the election is over he disappears. He doesn't serve the community or participate in the way committed grassroots candidates do.

During the 2020 election “conservative” Brian Burley sent out a very controversial text and email campaign: In a stroke of good luck he had been gifted the #1 ballot slot and wanting to capitalize on it Burley reached out to Democrats and claimed to be “THE CLEAR AND ONLY CHOICE FOR DEMOCRATS”. This opened many people's eyes to Burley's sleazy election tactics.

Brian's lies have caught up to him with the many HB citizens who follow his endless series of convenient political reversals.

Before the 2022 election many concerned residents reached out to Burley and urged him not to run for HBCC this year, he responded (we’re not kidding) “if they don’t attack me on social media I won't run”. No one said a word about him and right before the cutoff date in August Burley announced his run for HBCC.

This proves what many have known, Brian Burley is a pathological liar who will say or do anything to get elected. He does not care about the damage he does in his quest for a permanent political post.

At this very moment Brian Burley is stealing Save Surf City’s messaging saying “Don't Split the Vote, Clean up City Hall". He is a shameless politico that has no ideas of his own and is eager to steal the work of his campaign competitors.

The problem with people of Brian Burley’s tender age running for our highest leadership jobs is that they have no real experience, either in business or life, and can only be a burden on us all if elected. Imagine graduating from college, walking in the front door of Google or Bank of America and declaring that you want the CEO job?

The 7 HBCC members are the “CEOs” of HB Inc., this public service should not be considered an “on the job” learning situation; candidates need to bring a wide set of skills and real-world experience for the top job. We need the Best and Brightest, not the most ambitious who are willing to do or say anything to be elected.

Brian Burley is a grifter that wants the highest office without ever having bothered to be qualified for it. On November 8th Say NO to Brian Burley.

NOTE: after we posted this piece Brian Burley sent out a mailer refuting the facts we reported on, that wasn’t unexpected as Brian lies like he breathes. At the top of his email he placed this photo: The problem? Brian wasn’t married at the time.

Please don’t vote for an ambitious serial liar like Brian Burley, we have enough problems.
